Humanitas is kicking off the annual “Songwriting for Social Change” project. Each fall semester, our global studies academy challenges students to employ the powers of music and the written word to communicate an artistic message relating to current events, societal issues, or the human condition in general. Students may choose to work alone or combine their talents in groups to complete the assignment. All words and music must be written and performed by Humanitas students. Students may play their own instruments, or use GarageBand and similar software to construct their original tracks. A handout regarding the assignment is being distributed this week. The songwriting assignment is due by 11/17.
